While Morocco looks strong, their showing was against one of the lowest ranked teams of the tournament currently. So, arguably, the performance of Algeria against Senegal was just a little more to write home about. They secured a 2–0 victory after impressive strikes from Marine Dafeur and Mélissa Bethi at the 42^nd and 88^th minutes. After a tricky run-up to the tournament, Algeria were able to bounce back and keep control. If the Algerian women can maintain that momentum, they stand to offer a significant challenge to the home favourites. 

Both teams have shown their hand and have made a positive start, so expect that to continue in this next round.
