URC: Blue Bulls vs Benetton, Preview and Predictions  

The Bulls head into their final league-stage clash of the United Rugby Championship season looking to secure a strong finish before the play-offs begin later this month. 

Looking at how they’ve already qualified for the URC, if they win against Benetton, they could potentially move even higher on the URC standings.  

Benetton, on the other hand, did not qualify for the next rounds of URC since they fell out of play-off contention. They have lost three times in their last five games, including a heavy defeat to the Sharks just this past week.  

Match Preview 

After securing an eight-try victory against Zebre Parma, the Pretoria squad are now in the top four of the log with 54 points. Playing on home soil, they’re at an advantage to lock in the quarterfinals with another win.  

Standing in their way is a wounded but dangerous Benetton squad, not willing to back down without a fight. They are physically tough and have a very strong defence capable of giving Bulls a hard time.  

Tactical Overview  

Benetton are currently in 13^th position, and their recent attacking tactics have shown confidence within the squad. Although they fumbled the bag, there’s still a chance to redeem themselves ahead of the Saturday game.

The Bulls are most likely to continue with the squad that was playing against Zebre. Their tackles and ability to move the ball quickly and convert it into tries has been a major strength during the latter stages of this tournament.

However, we can’t put it past the Italian gang that they will want the Bulls to earn every point. The Bulls will need accuracy in execution and discipline to avoid allowing the Italians opportunities to stay in the contest.
