The Singapore Grand Prix is always one of the most exciting weekends on the Formula 1 calendar.
And this year, it’s also the last Sprint race of the 2026 season. That means a single practice session, less time for teams to find the right setup, and yet another points-scoring opportunity for the drivers. And there’s no doubt some of the more experienced drivers are looking forward to this weekend.
There’s a reason why this circuit is considered one of the most challenging on the F1 calendar. It has walls lining most of it, making it extremely narrow, meaning it’s totally unforgiving. Even the slightest mistake or snap of the car can leave drivers in the wall. That makes it a dream for drivers who enjoy pushing the limits, and a nightmare for those who remain hesitant.
Last year’s winner, George Russsell, is already starting on the back foot, with the team having already confirmed that he will be taking a grid penalty this weekend. He’ll be starting at the back of the grid while his teammate, Kimi Antonelli, attempts to extend his championship lead even further. And our most recent race winner, Max Verstappen, might not continue his streak, with Singapore historically being one of his most challenging tracks.
With all that in mind, let’s look at the Singapore Grand Prix betting tips and predictions.

Bahrain Grand Prix in Singapore Recap
The Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia was chaotic, to say the least.
Heavy rains delayed the start of the race for almost an hour, and when the race eventually did start, several drivers ran into power issues. This caused plenty of confusion even before the first real lap.
Several drivers really took advantage of strategy by choosing the Intermediate tyres, while others dropped back using slicks on a wet track. That left unlikely candidates like both Williams drivers in P6 and P7 for a short time, while others like Hamilton and Leclerc began dropping out of the points.
That said, as the race progressed, many drivers were able to fight their way back to the top. With a gamble on the tyre strategy, Hamilton managed to finish P3 on the podium alongside Kimi Antonelli (P2) and Max Verstappen taking the win. Charles Leclerc (P4) and Isack Hadjar (P5) round up the top five positions. Other point scorers included Piastri, Lawson, Norris, Lindblad, and surprisingly, Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin (P8).
Others were less fortunate, with George Russell having a power unit failure and retiring from the race, falling back even further in the Drivers’ Championship. Bottas and Albon were the other two retirements of the day.
Key Storylines and Considerations Heading Into the Weekend
George Russell Gets a Grid Penalty
Unfortunately, George Russell’s struggles will continue into Singapore. As a result of the power unit failure in Sepang, Mercedes has confirmed that Russell will be faced with a grid penalty this weekend for new car components. That means he’ll be starting at least ten positions back from his qualifying position, which already puts him on the back foot.
The minimum place he could start is P10, so if he manages to get pole, not all hope is lost. If he can stay focused and pull of impressive overtakes and have a good strategy, it’s still possible to score some good points and try to reduce the deficit to Antonelli.
But as it stands, he is still 84 points behind. It will take a lot of hard work, and occasional misfortune for Antonelli, to see Russell getting any closer to the championship win.
Heat and Humidity of Marina Bay Will See Drivers Struggling
We’ve already talked about the circuit itself. The tight corners, limited run-off areas, and walls punishing small mistakes, already make the race a challenge.
But despite the race being held at night, it can still get incredibly warm. Temperatures are expected to reach as high as 32°C with high humidity levels, too, making it very uncomfortable for the drivers. And of course, the heat will impact performance and tyre degradation, and it will be interesting to see how this impacts the race.
Drivers to Watch
Kimi Antonelli
Antonelli is an obvious choice to look out for this weekend. He might not be as experienced around here as other drivers on the grid, but there’s no denying he always manages to put in an incredible performance.
With the Mercedes under him, he manged to finish P2 last weekend and extend his championship lead. He’s been consistent throughout the season, with right Grand Prix victories to his name, so his confidence will be running high.
Isack Hadjar
It’s no secret that Max Verstappen will likely have a strong showing this weekend, but let’s not forget Hadjar. Since he returned after his wrist injury, he’s been performing very well, with a great P5 finish last weekend. With the Red Bull car showing some improvements, we think he will have a good qualifying once again and will score some good points for the team.
Lando Norris
Norris has always enjoyed racing around Marina Bay. In the last three seasons, he has always finished in the top three. In 2023, he finished P2 behind race winner Carlos Sainz. In 2024, Norris finished with the victory. And last year, he ended P3 behind Verstappen (P2) and Russell (P1).
Despite the McLaren not being in the best shape, in comparison to competitors making bigger steps in performance, Singapore is a track where the driver makes the difference. Expect Lando Norris to feel a little more at home and put in some great laps.
Singapore Grand Prix Betting Tips
Race Winner
Kimi Antonelli
With his consistency throughout this year, a comfortable championship lead, and a car that’s been performing at the top level, Antonelli is a good shout for this week’s winner. So, backing Antonelli seems like a smart choice.
Best Value Bet
Both Cars Points Finish – Ferrari
While Ferrari hasn’t been performing as well as they would like to, both cars have scored points in 13 races out of the previous 16. So, it’s a worthwhile assumption that both Hamilton and Leclerc will score this weekend.
