Lions vs Bulls: Preview and Predictions 

The Fidelity ADT Lions and the Vodacom Bulls head into Round 3 of the Carling Currie Cup Premier Division on Saturday, 1 August. The Lions enter this match on a high after their 52-29 win over the Airlink Pumas last weekend. Meanwhile, the Bulls will be desperate to bounce back after their 56-26 defeat by the Suzuki Griquas.

The Bulls, meanwhile, are still searching for their first victory. Losses to the Sanlam Boland Kavaliers (24-10) and Griquas (56-26) have left them at the bottom of the table. This makes this a must-win encounter.

Their attack has produced 79 points in two matches, with quick ball movement and clinical finishing proving difficult for opposition defences to contain. Expect them to play at a high tempo and attack from all areas of the field. 

The Bulls have shown flashes of attacking quality but have struggled defensively, conceding 80 points across their opening two fixtures. They’ll need to tighten up their defence while improving their discipline if they’re to contain the Lions’ backline.
