The draw for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers took place in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday with the tournament set to be host by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The 48 nations were divided into four pots of 12 teams. Each group will feature one team from each pot, with the top two teams from every group qualifying for the Finals.
Bafana found themselves in Group D as they will face Guinea, Eritrea, and Benni McCarthy’s Kenya.
Elsewhere, Ghana and Ivory Coast have been drawn together in Group C for a rematch of the 2015 AFCON final. Reigning champions Morocco finds themselves in Group A alongside Gabon, Niger, and Lesotho.
The first round of qualifiers will begin in September 2026 and conclude in March 2027.
