Mosimane shared insights into the conversations, highlighting the club’s determination to re-establish itself among the continent’s elite teams.
“You can say that Kaizer Chiefs have thrown the cat amongst the pigeons. I was speaking to Jess, and she said the PSL title is now in Pirates’ hands. She said they want to focus on consolidating their position in CAF, whether in the Champions League or the Confederation Cup. We are doing it for our club. We want Kaizer Chiefs back,” said Mosimane.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly mentor also revealed that Bobby Motaung reflected on the club’s recent continental success as motivation for the future.
“They also reminded me – in fact, it was Bobby who said Kaizer Chiefs were in the Champions League final not so long ago. So, Kaizer Chiefs see themselves doing well,” he added.
Kaizer Chiefs have been working to rebuild their stature both domestically and on the African continent after enduring several challenging seasons. The club’s focus on CAF competitions signals a renewed ambition to compete at the highest level and return to winning ways.
