Man Utd face Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.

The hosts won successive league matches under Ruben Amorim for the first time by winning at Liverpool. Brighton have won six of their last seven league meetings with Man Utd.

Match: Man Utd v Brighton
When: Saturday, 25 Oct 2025

Man Utd Form

Man Utd started this season poorly, but have hit a strong run of form lately. After failing to win any of their first three matches of this season, it’s four wins in the last six now. A 3-2 win over Burnley saw them up 3.63 xG as a last-minute winner was needed. A 3-0 loss at Man City followed.

The Red Devils beat ten-man Chelsea at home, but went to Brentford and lost 3-1 after that. They’ve since won two straight league matches for the first time under Ruben Amorim – winning 2-0 at home to Sunderland and 2-1 at Anfield against Liverpool. A late Harry Maguire header sealed that win.

Man Utd Team News

United are without centre back Lisandro Martinez, who is about a month from returning. Ayden Heaven and Noussair Mazraoui are both available in defence, where Harry Maguire could keep his spot over Leny Yoro.

Ruben Amorim could name an unchanged XI. Mason Mount could be preferred to Benjamin Sesko, with Diogo Dalot at left wingback in preference to Patrick Dorgu.

Man Utd Motivation

The Red Devils are desperate to string together some wins at home. They will go all out to take the three points here.

A relatively pragmatic approach is expected, knowing how open Brighton are.

Brighton Form

Brighton have 12 points from eight league matches. Eight of those points have come at home, but just four have come on their travels. They’ve lost just two of their last 15 matches in all competitions. A fine 2-1 win over Man City in Round Three preceded a 2-1 loss at Bournemouth.

They drew 2-2 at home to Tottenham after leading 2-0. After winning 6-0 at Barnsley in the Carabao Cup, they won 3-1 at ten-man Chelsea with all three goals coming after the red card. A late goal rescued a 1-1 draw at Wolves before beating Newcastle 2-1 in their last match after a Danny Welbeck brace.

Brighton Team News

There are three absentees and four doubts for coach Fabian Hurzeler. Adam Webster, Solly March and Jack Hinshelwood will play no part. Joel Veltman should shake off a knock to play some part.

Kaoru Mitoma, Brajan Gruda and Diego Gomez all need late fitness tests. The trio should all be cleared to feature. Mitoma and Gomez are fighting for the left winger role.

Brighton Motivation

The Seagulls will arrive at Old Trafford full of belief and with no fear. They will look to take the game to the Red Devils.

Brighton will play for the win in this one. A draw is not a bad result either, but they won’t settle for one until late in the second half.

Key Stats

  • Man Utd have won 4 of their last 6 league matches (7 losses in 11 before that)
  • Man Utd have won their last 3 home EPL matches
  • Brighton have won 6 of their last 7 EPL matches vs Man Utd
  • Brighton’s Danny Welbeck has scored 4 goals in his last 3 matches

Verdict

This should be a game with goals. Brighton have every chance of leaving with at least a point, judging by their record against United.

Best Bet: Both Teams to Score at 1.48

Alternate Bet: Brighton win/draw double chance at 1.80

Goalscorer Tip: Danny Welbeck to score anytime at 3.55
