Magesi appoint Morgan Mammila as Director of Football

Motsepe Foundation Championship club Magesi FC have appointed Morgan Mammila as their new Director of Football ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The appointment comes after Magesi’s relegation from the Betway Premiership, with the club looking to rebuild and strengthen their football structures ahead of their campaign in South Africa’s second tier.

Mammila joins Dikwena tsa Meetse with extensive experience in South African football, having previously served as Technical Director and head coach at Chippa United. He has also held key administrative roles at clubs including Baroka FC, Royal Eagles and Moroka Swallows.

Announcing the appointment, Magesi confirmed that Mammila will be responsible for overseeing the club’s football operations.

“Magesi FC is proud to announce the appointment of Mr Morgan Mammila as our new Director of Football ahead of the 2026/27 season,” the club said in an official statement.

“Mr Mammila brings a wealth of experience in South African football, having worked across the PSL and Motsepe Foundation Championship. He is known for his discipline, passion, and ability to build competitive teams with a strong winning mentality.”

In his new role, Mammila will oversee Magesi’s technical structure, player recruitment strategy, youth development pathway and the club’s overall football philosophy.

The club believes his experience and leadership will be crucial as they aim to return to the top flight.

“We believe his leadership, experience, and vision will play a key role in taking the club forward both on and off the pitch,” Magesi added.

Magesi will now begin preparations for the 2026/27 Motsepe Foundation Championship season as they look to secure promotion back to the Betway Premiership.
