Chelsea vs PSG – Preview, Predictions and Best Bets

Chelsea face PSG in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

The Blues trail 5-2 from the first leg and need a miracle to progress. The Parisians had no weekend fixture and should be fully rested for this one.

Chelsea have just two wins in their last seven home league matches. Overall, it’s three wins in their last eight matches in all competitions. A 4-0 win at Hull City followed in the FA Cup was followed by a 1-1 home draw vs Burnley as they conceded in the last minute with ten men. A 2-1 loss followed at Arsenal.

The Blues were excellent in a 4-1 win away at Aston Villa. they beat Wrexham 4-2 in the FA Cup after going to extra time. Last week, they were thrashed 5-2 away by PSG despite just nine shots allowed. They lost again on Saturday, going down 1-0 at home to Newcastle in the league.

Centre back Levi Colwill is still out injured and winger Jamie Gittens is set to play no part. Estevao should be available whilst Pedro Neto can start after a domestic ban.

Coach Liam Rosenior could make a few changes to his XI. Reece James could revert to right back with either Romeo Lavia or Andrey Santos starting in midfield. Robert Sanchez is backed to play in goal.

The Blues need a miracle to progress Champions League. They will try to score early and make a fist of it.

An attacking approach is needed from the first whistle. Expect a physical, robust display to try to rattle PSG.

PSG have eight wins, four losses and one draw in their last 13 matches in all competitions. They are still top of Ligue 1 despite not playing this weekend, as Lens lost their fixture. A 3-2 win at ten-man Monaco in the Champions League was followed by a 3-0 win vs Metz.

Coach Luis Enrique are still without Fabian Ruiz in midfield. Teenager Quentin Ndjantou will play no part.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will hope to start after his first leg brace. Desire Doue or Bradley Barcola could drop to the bench.

PSG did not play in the Ligue 1 this past weekend. They are fresh and fully focused on this match.

They will try to get through the first 20 minutes by keeping the ball. If they score first, the tie will almost be settled.
