Atalanta are doing well in Europe, but are struggling domestically. In Europe, they lost to PSG on matchday one but have three wins and a draw since then with three clean sheets. After three draws, they lost 1-0 at Udinese in Serie A. A determined 1-0 win followed at Marseille in the Champions League.

After two more league losses, they won 3-0 away at Eintracht Frankfurt. That win gave them a boost domestically, beating Fiorentina 2-0 in the league and Genoa 4-0 in the Coppa Italia. On Saturday, a 3-1 loss at Verona left Atalanta toiling down in 12^th spot in Serie A.

Winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is out with a muscle injury and wingback Mitchel Bakker will play no part after a serious knee injury.

Coach Raffaele Palladino may freshen up his side after the weekend defeat. Gianluca Scamacca is pushing to start after scoring from the bench in the last match. He could take Nikola Krstovic’s spot in attack.

Levi Colwill is out long-term in defence and Wesley Fofana could be rested. Benoit Badiashile could come into the back four. Liam Delap is injured in attack with a shoulder problem.   

Chelsea Motivation

The Blues need a win here after not tasting victory for three matches. Enzo Maresca’s recent rotation may have been with an eye on this trip to Bergamo.
