Atalanta v AC Milan – Preview, Predictions and Best Bets

Atalanta face AC Milan in Serie A on Tuesday.

La Dea are unbeaten in the league but have drawn six of their eight matches this season. The Rossoneri are seven matches unbeaten in the league with five wins.

Match: Atalanta v AC Milan
When: Tuesday, 28 Oct 2025

Atalanta Form

Atalanta have just two wins to their name in the last eight matches. A 4-0 loss away to PSG on matchday one of the Champions League was followed by a 3-0 win at Torino. They drew 1-1 with ten men at Juventus before a 2-1 home win over Club Brugge in Europe.

They’ve since drawn four straight matches. They surrendered a 1-0 lead in a 1-1 home draw vs Como before putting up 2.18 xG in a 0-0 home stalemate with Lazio. A 0-0 draw in the Champions League at home to Slavia Prague saw 2.59 xG and five big chances missed. Last Saturday, they could only draw 1-1 at Cremonese.

Atalanta Team News

Coach Ivan Juric is without left back Mitchel Bakker due to a long-term knee injury. Centre back Giorgio Scalvini has missed the last two matches and remains an absentee.

Key striker Gianluca Scamacca is slowly returning to match fitness. He is competing with Nikola Krstovic to start up front. Midfielder Marco Brescianini scored from the bench in the last match and is pushing to start here.

Atalanta Motivation

Atalanta are not as adventurous under their new coach, but they’ve still been dominating matches and hitting 20 shots in many of their games.

They need a win here and can’t afford to draw a fifth straight match. They won’t settle for a point as they look to close the gap to the top of the table.

AC Milan Form

Milan lost their opening league match of this season, but are unbeaten since then. Their seven Serie A matches since that loss have seen five wins and two draws. They sit third in the table, just one point off the summit. After three straight league wins, they beat Lecce 3-0 in the Coppa Italia.

A 2-1 home win over Napoli came with ten men as they were outshot 19-6 and allowed 2.96 xG. A 0-0 draw at Juventus saw a penalty missed, before a 2-1 home win over Fiorentina. Last Friday, Milan scored in injury time to rescue a 2-2 home draw vs Pisa as they outshot their opponents 20-8.

AC Milan Team News

Coach Max Allegri could be without four players for this match. Three of those are key members of the best XI. Pervis Estupinan is absent at left back and midfielder Adrien Rabiot has a calf strain.

Christian Pulisic is nursing a hamstring injury, and Swiss midfielder Ardon Jashari is set to play no part either. Christopher Nkunku may have to settle for a place on the bench in this one. Young fullback Zachary Athekame scored as a substitute in the last match and could be handed a place in the XI.

AC Milan Motivation

Milan have been using an attacking 3-5-2 formation of late. They are allowing a lot of chances but have been fortunate to avoid leaky many goals.

A draw on the road here would be a decent result. They could settle for a point in the second half.

Key Stats

  • Atalanta are unbeaten in Serie A this season (2 wins, 6 draws)
  • Atalanta have won 4 of their last 5 matches vs AC Milan
  • Milan are unbeaten in 7 Serie A fixtures (5 wins)
  • Milan have seen 40 goals in their last 11 trips to Atalanta (19 scored, 21 conceded)

Verdict

This match should see goals on display. Backing over 3.5 goals and Atalanta to avoid defeat looks the best bet.

Best Bet: Atalanta win/draw double chance & Both Teams to Score at 2.50

Alternate Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 2.40
