The Gunners sit top of the EPL table whilst the Seagulls have never won a major trophy. Arsenal have won seven straight matches, but just three of their last eight clashes with Brighton.

Match: Arsenal v Brighton
When: Wednesday, 29 Oct 2025

Arsenal Form

Arsenal have won seven straight matches since a late 1-1 draw at home to Man City. They won 2-0 at Port Vale before a fine 2-1 comeback win away at Newcastle. A 2-0 home win over Olympiakos was followed by a totally dominant 2-0 home win over West Ham with a 21-4 shot count.

A narrow 1-0 win over Fulham needed a set-piece winner. Arsenal thrashed Atletico Madrid 4-0 at home with all four strikes coming in 14 second-half minutes. On Sunday, a 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace saw them allow their opponents just one shot on target.

Arsenal Team News

Declan Rice, Gabriel Martinelli, William Saliba and Ricardo Califiori all picked up knocks in the win over Crystal Palace and could be rested here.

Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Jesus are out injured. There could be a raft of changes. Kepa will play in goal and the likes of Mikel Merino, Ben White and Piero Hincapie are set for start.

Arsenal Motivation

The Gunners have not won the League Cup in 30 years, and Arteta needs to end his trophy drought.

Arsenal will take the game seriously and look to win in regulation time. They won’t be afraid to sit deep to protect a lead.

Brighton Form

Brighton’s nine league matches have yielded just 12 points, placing them down in 13th place in the EPL table. They’ve lost three of their five away league matches this season, but overall it’s just those three losses in the last 15 matches across all competitions. They won 6-0 at Barnsley in the last round of the Carabao Cup.

The Seagulls won 3-1 at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, taking full advantage of facing ten men. A 1-1 draw at Wolves needed a late goal to rescue a point, before beating Newcastle 2-1 thanks to two more late goals scored. They were outclassed on Saturday in a 4-2 loss at Man Utd, as they trailed 3-0 at one stage.

Brighton Team News

Coach Fabian Hurzeler is without Adam Webster, Solly March and Jack Hinshelwood. Kaoru Mitoma, Joel Veltman and Brajan Gruda all missed the last match but are nearing a return.

Diego Gomez netted four goals in the last round and will return to the XI. James Milner could get an opportunity to start and young midfielder Charlampos Kostoulas could be rewarded for his goal at Old Trafford with a place in the XI.

Brighton Motivation

The Seagulls will give full attention to this fixture, with no distraction provided by their weekend home game against Leeds.

Brighton would love a cup run. They will go to Arsenal with some confidence from recent meetings and try to take the game to Arteta’s side.
