Fight fans experienced shock and awe as one of the most hyped prospects in mixed martial arts suffered a shocking first loss and others put themselves on the map with magnificent finishes.

Without further ado, here are the month’s best knockouts:


Honourable Mention:

No Doubt

The ever-game Santiago Ponzinibbio tried to contest his stoppage loss to Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Des Moines, but it was clear the Argentinian was out of it as he drifted into the side of the Octagon.

5: Scary Stuff

Marc-Andre Barriault brought the violence on home soil at UFC 315, slaying Bruno Silva with brutal elbows that left the Brazilian motionless for several moments and saw him stretchered out of the Octagon.

4: Right On Target

A bloodied Jared Gordon melted Thiago Moises at UFC Vegas 106, dropping the Brazilian with a beautiful right hand and separating him from consciousness with a couple of extra blows.

3: Fire Starter

Bekzat Almakhan started UFC 315 with a bang as he landed a perfect uppercut and a few follow-up shots to become the first man to finish Brad Katona.  

2: Bounced Like A Basketball

Canada’s own Mike Malott enjoyed a dream homecoming at UFC 315 as he dropped Charles Radtke with a nasty left hook and bounced his head off the canvas to finish things off.

1: Hype Train Derailed

Former two-division ONE Championship titleholder Reinier de Ridder derailed the hype train that was Bo Nickal by handing the wrestling phenom his first loss with overwhelming dirty boxing and a beautiful knee at UFC Des Moines.
