Arsenal have won 10 straight matches in all competitions. The Black Cats sit fourth in the table with an unbeaten home record.

Match: Sunderland vs Arsenal
When: Saturday, 08 Nov 2025

Sunderland Form

Sunderland are having an outstanding season so far. Their last eight league matches have seen just one defeat. A 2-1 home win over Brentford was followed by two draws: 0-0 at Crystal Palace and 1-1 at home to Aston Villa with ten men.

They went to Nottingham Forest and won 1-0 in a fine display, before losing 2-0 at Man Utd. Two key wins followed. They beat Wolves 2-0 at home and went to Chelsea and won 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in a superb display. Their last match saw a 1-1 home draw vs Everton as they outshot the opponents 17-8.

Sunderland Team News

Sunderland have a fair few injuries for this match. They have a very settled XI right now. Winger Romaine Mundle is out with a hamstring problem. Habib Diarra misses out as he continues to struggle with a groin problem.

Left backs Leo Hjelde, Ajibola Alese and Dennis Cirkin will play no part. Granit Xhaka will start against his former club. The Swiss international has one goal and three assists this season already.

Sunderland Motivation

Coach Regis Le Bris will give his side belief that they can win the match. A recent victory at Stamford Bridge will have increased confidence.

Sunderland will sit back at times in a back five, but they have pace to counter at pace. Their set-pieces are a big weapon.

Arsenal Form

Arsenal have won ten straight matches. They’ve conceded just one goal in that run. A 2-0 home league win over West Ham with a 21-4 shot count, was followed by a 1-0 win at Fulham. Arsenal scored four second-half goals to smash Atletico Madrid 4-0 in the Champions League.

After a 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace, Mikel Arteta’s side beat Brighton 2-0. Last weekend, they cruised 2-0 past Burnley before a 3-0 win in midweek away to Slavia Prague. Arsenal allowed just 0.47 xG in a solid away win.

Arsenal Team News

Mikel Arteta is without six attacking players for this match. Strikers Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have been out long-term, but not Viktor Gyokeres is ruled out too.

Noni Madueke, 0Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli are set to miss out too. Mikel Merino could cover up front whilst Ethan Nwaneri may start in midfield with Eberechi Eze down the left flank.

Arsenal Motivation

Arsenal would see anything less than a win as being a poor result. Only an 11th straight win would be seen as a good result.

Arteta’s side will play on the front foot, but they will also be ready to defend in numbers. Set-pieces will be key in both boxes.

Key Stats

  • Sunderland are unbeaten at home (3 wins, 2 draws)
  • Sunderland have the 2nd best defence in the league (8 goals conceded)
  • Arsenal have won their last 10 matches
  • Arsenal have conceded just 1 goal in their last 10 matches
  • Arsenal are unbeaten in 12 matches vs Sunderland (9 wins)

Verdict

The Gunners look unstoppable right now. It’s hard to look past a win-to-nil here.

Best Bet: Arsenal win to nil at 2.00

Alternate Bet: Arsenal win (-1 handicap) at 2.10
