Real Madrid v Juventus – Preview, Predictions and Best Bets

Real Madrid face Juventus in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

Los Blancos have six points from six so far, whilst the Old Lady have just two points to their name. The sides last met in July in the FIFA Club World Cup as Real Madrid won 1-0.

Match: Real Madrid v Juventus
When: Wednesday, 22 Oct 2025

Real Madrid Form

Real Madrid began this season with seven straight wins. That included a nervous 2-1 home win over Marseille on matchday one. However, a shock 5-2 humbling followed in the derby against Atletico Madrid. They were 2-1 up at one stage but allowed six big chances in a poor defeat.

Three wins have followed that setback. They smashed Kairat Almaty 5-0 on matchday two with Kylian Mbappe netting a hattrick. A totally dominant 3-1 win followed over Villarreal with 3.52 xG and 26 shots. On Sunday, they scored late to win 1-0 at nine-man Getafe.

Real Madrid Team News

Xabi Alonso rotated his side in the last match. Both Arda Guler and Vinicius Jr are set to return to the XI for this one. Antonio Rudiger is absent in defence and Dani Ceballos will play no part in midfield.

There are a number of players who need late fitness tests. Dani Carvajal, Dean Huijsen, Ferland Mendy and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all question marks at the back.

Real Madrid Motivation

Los Blancos will go all out to win this match. They won’t settle for a draw at any stage.

Alonso’s side is heavily focused on possession. They will look to dominate from the first whistle in an open style of play, which leaves them vulnerable to counter attacks.

Juventus Form

The Bianconeri are on a six-match winless run with five draws and one defeat in all competitions. They needed a late goal to rescue a 4-4 draw vs Dortmund on matchday one in the Champions League, after three wins to start the season.

Further draws followed, 1-1 at Hellas Verona and 1-1 at home to Atalanta. On matchday two, they conceded late to draw 2-2 away to Villarreal. A 0-0 home draw to AC Milan saw their opponents miss a penalty. On Sunday, Igor Tudor’s team suffered a damaging 2-0 loss at Como with just three shots on target produced.

Juventus Team News

Centre back Gleison Bremer is ruled out with a long-term injury. Left back Juan Cabral misses out with a hamstring complaint.

Up front, Arkadiusz Milik remains absent with long-term injury problems. Fabio Miretti should be back in midfield. Dusan Vlahovic is pushing to start up front after scoring twice on matchday one.

Juventus Motivation

The Old Lady are low on confidence right now. A draw would be a great result in Madrid.

A conservative approach is expected. They will play at a low tempo and try to clog up midfield to frustrate the hosts.

Key Stats

  • Real Madrid have won 12 of their 13 matches in the League/Group Stages

  • Juventus have drawn 5 of their 6 matches (1 loss)
  • Juventus have just 1 win in their last 11 away UCL matches (5 losses)

Verdict

On form, Juventus look like rank outsiders. Madrid should get the win with Mbappe on target again.
