Transfer: Bvuma stays with Chiefs, Sundowns to sign Sasse & Mofokeng to Belgium
Bruce Bvuma signs a new deal with Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma has signed a new contract with the club, becoming the longest-serving player at Amakhosi.
According to iDiski Times, the 31-year-old shot-stopper has extended his stay at Naturena by one year.
Bvuma spent most of last season as a backup to Brandon Petersen, who delivered strong performances, while Rwandan international Fiacre Ntwari remained largely on the bench for much of the campaign.
Mamelodi Sundowns to sign Yan Sasse
Mamelodi Sundowns are in discussions to sign Yan Sasse from Espérance Sportive de Tunis as they continue planning a midfield rebuild ahead of the 2026/27 season. The move comes amid growing expectations that Portuguese midfielder Miguel Reisinho could leave the club.
Reisinho, 27, joined the Chloorkop-based side at the start of the previous campaign with high hopes, arriving alongside fellow Portuguese signing Nuno Santos, but his future now appears uncertain.
Sasse, meanwhile, is currently a free agent after his contract with Espérance expired. According to iDiski Times, the 29-year-old initially hesitated to make a move to South Africa last season but is now open to the switch, with a strong desire to reunite with coach Miguel Cardoso at Sundowns.
He is also believed to have attracted interest from clubs in North Africa and the Gulf, but a reunion in South Africa is increasingly seen as a realistic option.
Cardoso previously coached Espérance, where Sasse played a key role in the squad. During that period, he gained firsthand insight into the Brazilian’s quality and influence in decisive matches.
Relebogile Mofokeng Set for Belgium Move
Orlando Pirates starlet Relebohile Mofokeng is edging closer to securing a move to Europe, with Belgian Pro League side Royal Union Saint-Gilloise reportedly closing in on the player.
According to the Belgian publication Nieuwsblad, the club has tabled a lucrative four-year contract for the highly rated Bafana Bafana attacker, Relebohile Mofokeng, gesturing their confidence in his long-term potential.
Mofokeng has emerged as one of South Africa’s brightest young talents since breaking into the Pirates senior team in 2023 under coach Jose Riveiro. The 21-year-old has already made 125 appearances for the Buccaneers across all competitions, scoring 29 goals and providing 31 assists.
