PSL Transfers: Orlando Pirates Squad Shake-Up

Orlando Pirates have begun reshaping their squad, announcing the departure of six players from the Buccaneers, while four new signings have already joined the club. Meanwhile, head coach Fadlu Davids has been linked with a coaching role in Tanzania.

Pirates have confirmed the departure of Sipho Mbule, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Bandile Shandu, Karim Kimvuidi, and Deivi Miguel Vieira (Gilberto).

Thabiso Lebitso has also left the Sea Robbers in a swap deal with Stellenbosch FC for midfielder Mthetheleli Mthiyane who has been announced as the new signing by Pirates.

Other new faces arriving at the Ghosts are Richards Bay FC defender Sibangani Zulu, 19-year-old winger Bohlale Ngwato and forward Gamphani Lungu, both from Siwelele FC.

“The arrival of Mthiyane sees defender Thabiso Lebitso moving in the opposite direction to join the Maroons as part of a swap deal,” said Pirates in a statement.

“Each of the players departs having contributed to the Orlando Pirates’ journey in their own way, and the Club would like to place on record its appreciation for their service during their time with the Buccaneers,” said the club.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club thanks Bandile, Sipho, Tshegofatso, Karim and Gilberto for their service and wishes them all the best in the next chapters of their respective careers.”

Fadlu Davids to Young Africans SC

Still in transfer news coach Fadlu Davids, has reportedly emerged as one of the leading candidates for a high-profile coaching role in African football amid growing uncertainty over his future at Raja Athletic Club.

Davids has been the subject of intense speculation in recent days, with reports from Morocco suggesting that his tenure at Raja Casablanca could be drawing to a close.

Amid the uncertainty, reports from East Africa indicate that Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC have identified Davids as one of their preferred candidates for the vacant head coach position, further fuelling speculation about his next move.

Sinoxolo Kwayiba joins Stellenbosch FC

Sinoxolo Kwayiba’s transfer to Stellenbosch FC has been officially finalised, with new details of his contract at the Winelands club now confirmed.

The midfielder was set to joins the Maroons ahead of the new season following an impressive spell at Chippa United.

The 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Stellies, which includes an option to extend for a further two years.

According to Soccer Laduma, the deal suggest that head coach Gavin Hunt played a key role in pushing for the signing of the former Pirates player, having monitored Kwayiba’s progress for some time.
