Peter Shalulile and Tshegofatso Mabasa to reunite with Mokwena

Peter Shalulile and Tshegofatso Mabasa remain unattached after their contract with their respective clubs (Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates) came to an end. According to SABCSport, the duo are reportedly set to look for a move abroad, with Egyptian side Pyramids interested.

This comes after the former CAF Champions League winner parted ways with striker Fiston Mayele, who left the club as a free agent following the expiry of his contract. With the new Pyramids coach Rhulani Mokwena looking to reinforce his squad. Both Shalulile and Mabasa who previously worked with Mokwena at Sundowns and Pirates, have been offered to the club.

However, no offers have been made for either player, despite interest from several PSL clubs. Both players are prioritising moves abroad as they look to continue their careers outside South Africa.

Thapelo Maseko to Exit Sundowns

Despite catching the eye with an impressive performance at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup, Thapelo Maseko’s future at Mamelodi Sundowns remains uncertain, with the winger understood to have been left out of the club’s pre-season tour to Austria.

Maseko spent the second half of last season on loan at Cypriot outfit AEL Limassol and was due to return to Chloorkop ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, as he remains under contract with the Betway Premiership champions.

According to Soccer Laduma, the 21-year-old is not part of head coach Miguel Cardoso’s plans for the new season. According to sources close to the situation, Sundowns are willing to sanction either another loan move or a permanent transfer if a suitable offer is received.

Despite emerging as one of Chiefs’ standout attacking performers since his arrival, Lilepo is understood to be keen on leaving after struggling to settle in South Africa.

The 27-year-old was also absent from Chiefs’ pre-season tour of Spain, with the club reportedly granting him time to resolve his future before the new campaign.
