PSL: New signings who impressed this season

With the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League season coming to an end, we take a look at the new players who had a stellar performance in their clubs.

Oswin Appollis – Orlando Pirates

Appollis was the biggest signing of the season for Pirates this season, as the Robbers beat both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns for his signature. The Bafana Bafana star immediately became one of the league’s most dangerous attackers, and his name has been mentioned by some of the fans for the Footballer of the Season accolade. His goals, assists, pace, and versatility have transformed Pirates’ frontline. The former Polokwane City player has made 39 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions for the Ghosts.

Tshepang Moremi – Orlando Pirates

Moremi arrival at Pirates from AmaZulu FC has added creativity and direct attacking play for the Buccaneers. He’s already among the notable contributors in goals and assists this season and has formed a strong partnership with Appollis and Mofokeng proved to be a threat against other teams. He even earned a call up to represent Bafana at the recent Afcon and he made 31 outings with seven goals and five assists for his team across all competitions.

Brayan León Muñiz – Mamelodi Sundowns

The Colombian striker has adapted quickly at Sundowns despite arriving halfway the campaign. Leon has become one of coach Miguel Cardoso’s trusted goal scorers. He even helped the Brazilians to reach the Caf Champions League final.  His movement and finishing have given Sundowns another attacking weapon, and he’s already contributing to important league goals. His numbers speak for him as a player who arrived mid-season, making 18 appearances and scoring nine goals across all competitions which is very impressive.

Mthetheleli Mthiyane – Stellenbosch FC

One of the underrated signings this season. Mthiyane has brought consistency and energy, especially defensively, and has quietly become reliable for his side. Coming from the Motsepe Foundation Championship side, Milford, and to become a key player for a Stellies side shows that Mthiyane is a great player and wouldn’t be surprised when teams come looking for his services.
