The Hammers have won just three of their last 14 league matches whilst Spurs have drawn their last three matches away at West Ham.

Match: West Ham v Tottenham
When: Saturday, 13 September 2025

West Ham Form

West Ham had a tough end to last season. An eight-match winless streak included four losses and four draws. They responded well to win 2-0 at Man Utd before a 2-1 home defeat to Nottingham Forest. On the final day, they won 3-1 at Ipswich.

This season began with three straight losses. A dire 3-0 defeat at Sunderland preceded an even worse display to lose 5-1 at home to Chelsea as they allowed seven big chances. A 2-1 lead was surrendered to lose 3-2 at Wolves in the Carabao Cup. The Hammers scored three goals after the 83-minute mark in their last fixture to claim a shock 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest.

West Ham Team News

Graham Potter is without George Earthy due to injury and young winger Luis Guilherme is out. Niclas Fullkrug will need a late fitness test after a calf strain on duty with Germany.

Igor Julio has come in on loan from Brighton and the defender could start right away. Crysencio Summerville is another who could start after a big impact from the bench at Forest.

West Ham Motivation

The Hammers will try to win at home, but a draw would not be a bad result here. Potter’s side have shown none of the free-flowing football that we saw from his Brighton side.

They have often had around 40% possession and with very few chances created.

Tottenham Form

Spurs lost 22 of their matches in the league last season. They ended up finishing 17th in the table before ending a 16-year wait for a trophy. They beat Man Utd 1-0 in the Europa League final before Ange Postecoglou was sacked.

This season started with a defeat on penalties after surrendering a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 vs PSG in the UEFA Super Cup. Their league campaign began with a strong 3-0 win over Burnley before beating Man City 2-0. Their last match saw a dire performance to lose 1-0 at home to Bournemouth as they were outshot 20-5 despite having 61% possession.

Tottenham Motivation

Tottenham will see West Ham as a winnable game. They won’t settle for a draw at any point.

Thomas Frank’s style is highly adaptable. Spurs could look to dominate or to absorb pressure and use their pace on the break against a slow Hammers side.
