Match: Man Utd v West Ham
When: Thursday, 04 Dec 2025

Man Utd Form

United inconsistent but they’re showing real progress. With six wins in their last 10 EPL matches, they’ve moved just three points off the top four. Ruben Amorim’s side won three straight matches, beating Sunderland 2-0 and winning 2-1 at Anfield against Liverpool. A 4-2 home win followed over Brighton.

In recent weeks, they’ve drop points in three of their four matches. Late goals were needed to rescue 2-2 draws away at Nottingham Forest and at Tottenham before a shock loss. Despite facing ten men for 77 minutes and having 25 shots, they lost 1-0 at home to Everton. Last weekend, they came from a goal down to win 2-1 at Crystal Palace.

Man Utd Team News

Central defender Harry Maguire remains absent in defence due to injury. Benjamin Sesko will play no part up front, but Matheus Cunha returns to the fold.

Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount could start again in the front three after both scored against Crystal Palace. Coach Ruben Amorim hinted at two players needing late fitness tests, but he did not disclose who they were.

Man Utd Motivation

The Red Devils lost their last home match vs Everton. They will try to win this match and show a response for their supporters.

Amorim’s side will be pragmatic at times, but an attacking approach is expected in general. If Amad Diallo is selected at right wingback, it will shows United’s intent to attack.

West Ham Form

The Hammers have had a dire season overall, which saw Graham Potter sacked in late September. They took just five points from their first nine EPL matches. Two wins in the last four have pushed them to 18th in the table, three points from safety. Nuno Espirito Santo picked up just one points from his first four matches in charge.

A 3-1 home win over Newcastle came with just 37% possession. A very strong home display saw 3.02 xG produced in a 3-2 victory over Burnley. A 2-0 lead was surrendered to draw 2-2 at Bournemouth as their opponents had 28 shots and 4.05 xG. Their last match saw a 2-0 home loss to Liverpool.

West Ham Team News

Lucas Paqueta is suspended after his red card against Liverpool. Oliver Scarles is injured and winger Crysencio Summerville will also miss out.

Lukasz Fabianksi has a back problem and is unlikely to be available. Tomas Soucek may replace Paqueta in a more advanced role. Kyle Walker-Peters is an option if West Ham switch to a back five.

West Ham Motivation

The Hammers need to play for wins, but a draw at Old Trafford would be a good result.

Expect the visitors to have less than 40% possession as they absorb pressure and use Bowen to lead counters.
