Match: Chelsea v Barcelona
When: Tuesday, 25 Nov 2025

Chelsea Form

Chelsea are finding some strong form and have won three straight league matches. After four wins across all competitions, they lost 2-1 at home to Sunderland. A 4-3 win followed at Wolves in the Carabao Cup after leading 3-0. The Blues went to Tottenham and won 1-0 with 3.68 xG produced.

Following a disappointing performance to draw 2-2 at Qarabag in their last Champions League match, they beat Wolves 3-0 in the league. They won 2-0 at Burnley on Saturday to end the weekend in second place. The Blues allowed just two shots on target to the Clarets.

Chelsea Team News

Coach Enzo Maresca is set to be without Romeo Lavia and Cole Palmer due to injury. The latter is nearing a return but this match comes too soon. Levi Colwill is out with a long-term injury at the back.

Moises Caicedo will start after a full rest in the last match. Wesley Fofana is also set to return after not playing at Turf Moor, with fit-again Benoit Badiashile as another option.

Chelsea Motivation

The Blues will be hugely motivated for this match. They need a win after dropping points in two of their four European matches so far.

Maresca’s side will try to play on the front foot, but they know they can’t give Barcelona space to play.

Barcelona Form

Barcelona have been inconsistent of late. They won seven of their first eight matches to start this season, before losing 2-1 at home to PSG on matchday two of the Champions League. A shock 4-1 loss at Sevilla followed. After two wins, including a 6-1 thrashing of ten-man Olympiakos, they lost 2-1 at Real Madrid in El Clásico.

They bounced back to beat Elche 3-1 but a shock 3-3 draw followed at Club Brugge despite having 76% of the possession and outshooting the Belgian club 23-10. With 3.31 xG produced, they won 4-2 at Celta Vigo. On Saturday, they thrashed Athletic Bilbao 4-0 in La Liga.

Barcelona Team News

Marcus Rashford returns from illness for this match. Alejandro Balde should be fine to feature after a knock to the head in the last match. Pedri has missed a month of action but has a chance of being back for this one.

Gavi is out with a long-term injury in midfield and goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is expected to miss this match.

Barcelona Motivation

Barcelona play one style: an open, attacking game. They will come to Stamford Bridge and play a high defensive line.

Hansi Flick’s side will look to win the match. They won’t settle for a draw at any point.
