McLaren’s 2025 Constructors’ Championship Win in Numbers
McLaren secured back-to-back Formula 1 constructors’ titles at the Singapore Grand Prix. It was the team’s 10th title in the sport, secured with a record-equalling six grand prix remaining.
Lando Norris finished third at the street circuit, while Oscar Piastri, the drivers’ championship leader, was fourth. The latter is the favourite to win the drivers’ title, McLaren’s first since 2008.
In 18 races, Norris and Piastri have scored 650 points from 12 wins and finished on the podium 28 times.
We focus on other important numbers that have defined the team’s triumph in 2025.
58 – The Number of Points Scored in Miami
McLaren left the Sunshine State in early May after executing the perfect Sprint weekend in F1. The team collected the maximum 58 points on offer after finishing first and second in the Sprint, followed by first and second in the Grand Prix.
1 – Grands Chelem
Grands Chelem is French for “Grand Slam”, and in Formula 1, it refers to a driver achieving a perfect weekend: grabbing pole position, scoring the fastest lap, and winning while leading every lap of the race. Championship leader Oscar Piastri scored his first Grands Chelem in Zandvoort at the Dutch GP.
7 – One-Two Finishes
The team has won 12 of the 18 races so far this season and achieved a one-two finish in more than half of those victories. It began at the Chinese GP in March, and most recently Norris finished ahead of Piastri at the Hungarian GP in August.
3 – Fastest Pit-Stops
F1 is about small margins, and milliseconds can be the difference between P1 and P2. It’s not only the drivers who make the difference over the weekend; the mechanics also play a huge role. The men and women in the garage have executed the fastest pit stops at three GP: Red Bull Ring (2.10s), the Hungaroring (1.94s), and Monza (1.91s). Those rapid stops made all the difference, with McLaren winning in Austria and Hungary, and finishing second and third in Italy.
2099 – Most Laps by a Team in 2025 So Far
Reliability in F1 is key, and McLaren has a near-perfect record in 2025, suffering only one significant mechanical failure. The team leads the charts for most race laps at just under 2100. Despite Norris DNF (Did Not Finish) at the Dutch GP, the Briton has raced slightly more laps, with 1069, than Piastri’s 1030. ?
McLaren CEO Zak Brown said the team’s historic win is “Everything I could have dreamt of and hoped for – it’s everything that we’ve all worked very hard to achieve.”
Brown, Stella, and the drivers will shift their focus to this weekend’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas.
The Sprint weekend format offers a maximum of 58 points to the driver who can win on Saturday and Sunday. Norris is only 22 points behind Piastri in the title fight; it could be a defining weekend for both McLaren drivers.
