The New York Knicks are one step closer to end their NBA trophy drought. They defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals on Monday.

They defeated Cavaliers 130 – 93 in game 4 and secured their return to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.  The Knicks came guns blazing with a historic performance that might end their 27 years old trophy drought.

The Knicks have dominated throughout the postseason. Almost every win has been by double figures, and they have outscored opponents by an average of nearly 24 points per game.

The NBA Finals

The team can now focus on the NBA Finals, where they will meet either the Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs, with that series currently level.

It will be the Knicks’ first finals appearance in years and another chance to chase a long-awaited title. Their last championship came in 1973. Their most recent finals trips ended in defeat against the Rockets in 1994, and the Spurs in 1999.

Now, the Knicks have an opportunity to end a championship drought that has lasted over 50 years.

The Thunder will face Spurs on 27 May for game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. NBA Finals are scheduled to tip off June 3, 2026. Bet on Basketball today and be a part of the action as your favourite team lifts the cup.
