Tottenham vs Arsenal – Preview, Predictions and Best Bets

Tottenham face Arsenal in the English Premier League on Sunday.

Published on

Spurs have just one win in their last 11 league matches and have new coach Igor Tudor in charge. Arsenal have dropped points in five of their last seven EPL fixtures as they threaten to throw away the title.

Tottenham Form

Spurs’ last 11 league matches have seen just one win. Across 24 matches in all competitions, they’ve won just six times. Thomas Frank was sacked after their last match. A late goal was needed to rescue a 2-2 draw at Burnley before winning 2-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt

Spurs came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home to Man City before losing 2-0 to Man Utd with ten men. United outshot Spurs 23-7 in that defeat. Tottenham lost 2-1 at home to Newcastle in their last match as they allowed 21 shots and 2.48 xG.

Tottenham Team News

Spurs are without several defenders. Cristian Romero is suspended and Pedro Porro, Kevin Danson and Destiny Udogie are out injured. Porro is nearing a return.

James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Mohamed Kudus are out long term, as are Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Bergvall. Richarlison has a chance of being back, but Wilson Odobert has had knee surgery.

Tottenham Motivation

Tottenham will hope for a new manager bounce in the biggest match of their season. They are highly motivated to help deny Arsenal the league title.

Igor Tudor is usually a coach who uses a back three. He will look to frustrate Arsenal with a makeshift defence.

Arsenal Form

Arsenal are limping right now and could throw away a golden chance to win the league. Their last seven Premier League fixtures have seen points dropped on five occasions with just two wins. A 4-0 win followed at Leeds preceded a late 1-0 home win vs Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.

After beating Sunderland 3-0 at home, they had just two shots on target in a poor 1-1 draw at Brentford. After a 4-0 home win over Wigan in the FA Cup, they dropped points in midweek. A 2-0 lead at struggling Wolves turned in a 2-2 draw for Arsenal.

Arsenal Team News

Mikel Merino is ruled out with a broken foot. Max Dowman, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard could all return to the fold.

Bukayo Saka was used as a number ten vs Wolves. He could move wide if Odegaard is fit. Mikel Arteta could be tempted to use Gabriel Jesus up front instead of Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal Motivation

The Gunners need any win here. They simply can’t afford to drop more points and City may have closed the gap to two points by kickoff.

Arsenal will attack and try to get a lead. They may park the bus after that and try to protect their advantage.

Key Stats
