Kaizer Chiefs are finding it hard to land the signature of Stellenbosch winger Langelihle Phili as the Maroons reportedly value the player for R16 million.

In early June, the Chiefs were reportedly showing interest in the 21-year-old and willing to bring him to Naturena. According to FARPOST, the Soweto giants have finally submitted their bid to Stellies that was rejected.

Amakhosi offered former Cape Winelands player Ashely Du Preez, George Matlou who has left the club and a substantial cash sum, but Stellenbosch rejected the offer.

However, Chiefs will not give up on pursuing Phili, as the club is hoping to find common ground with Stellies. It is also reported that rivals Orlando Pirates are showing interest in signing the player.

Teboho Mokoena Attracts Saudi Clubs

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena has attracted interest abroad, according to Asharq Al-Awsat.

The Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana star is being monitored by Saudi clubs Al-Taawoun and Al-Ettifaq. Both clubs are reportedly showing serious interest in the 29-year-old midfielder. With growing transfer speculation across the Saudi Pro League ahead of the upcoming window, reports suggest continued scouting interest from both clubs.

Khalil Ben Youssef joins Durban City

Former Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef has been appointed as the new head coach of Durban City following the departure of Pitso Dladla.

The 37-year-old Tunisian tactician takes over the Nedbank Cup champions, Chiefs, after guiding Amakhosi to a third-place finish in the 2025/26 season. Ben Youssef holds a CAF A Licence, and his extensive experience across the African continent is expected to be valuable for the CAF Confederation Cup-bound side.

He previously served in senior technical roles at AS FAR Rabat, Young Africans SC, Club Africain, and Al Ahli SC.

“We are confident that Khalil possesses the leadership, character, and football philosophy required to help us achieve our ambitions, and we are delighted to welcome him to Durban City FC,” the club confirmed in a statement.
