The host have already qualified for the knockout phase of the World Cup following two wins from Paraguay and Australia. While Turkiye are yet to get a point in this year’s World Cup tournament.

Türkiye

Türkiye head into their final match with no fresh injuries, the team’s confidence is low following back-to-back defeats from Paraguay and USA. Coach Vincenzo Montella, currently is surely under intense pressure to finish the tournament with a positive result and he is expected to slightly change his lineup.

However, core players like Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Arda Güler will remain central to his plans. Türkiye’s biggest problem has been a struggling attack, having failed to score a single goal in the group stage so far. Despite showing flashes of technical quality throughout the tournament, they have severely lacked a sense of urgency in the final third, leaving finishing and chance creation as the team’s biggest concerns.

United States

USA has already qualified for the Round of 32 following a dominant 4–1 win over Paraguay and a 2-0 victory against Australia, the United States heads into their final group match full of momentum.

The co-hosts look sharp and confident throughout the tournament, scoring freely while maintaining impressive defensive control. However, manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to heavily test his squad depth and save some of his key player for the next round, as he balances this positive momentum with player protection.

Key players like Chris Richards, Antonee Robinson, Tyler Adams, and Folarin Balogun may be rested for rotation and yellow-card management, though Christian Pulisic could potentially return to action depending on his fitness after a minor calf issue.

What’s at Stake

This feels like a dead rubber match, but the Turkish side will be playing to restore their pride after a disappointing campaign start. Having not registered a goal in this year’s edition is a disgrace for this team but they are coming to this clash to avoid finishing the group empty-handed.

For coach Pochettino’s team it’s all about giving other players minutes but keeping the winning mentality at the same time for their next opponents.

Verdict

On form, confidence, and squad depth, the United States enter as clear favourites. Türkiye’s motivation and pride could make them more dangerous than their results suggest, but their lack of goals remains an issue. A draw is likely to occur here.
